Stampede works with organisations at a point of genuine transformation: amplifying people with new technology, redesigning the systems their customers depend on and building digital products that actually get used. Our clients include large Malaysian corporates, regional enterprises and organisations with complex problems that require more than a surface-level fix.
We don’t pitch generic solutions. We research, we think and we deliver work that holds up. The challenge we have is not quality. It’s visibility. Too many of the right clients don’t know we exist.
This role changes that.
About this role
We close well. We don’t hunt enough.
Our pipeline right now runs on referrals, warm contacts and people who find us. That works great for many years. But it means we’re reactive when we should be proactive. We’re not yet visible to clients who would choose us if they only knew about us.
This role is for someone who reads about a new development in the right organisation and immediately thinks: that’s a conversation we should be in. Someone who goes to an event and comes back with leads with a genuinely interesting problem-solution fit and alignment, not just cards collected.
The instinct either exists or it doesn’t. If it does, this is a role worth paying attention to.
You’ll be working closely with our leadership to build a pipeline that doesn’t depend on who happens to call us next. You’ll fill our monthly training cohorts with companies worth knowing. And over time, you’ll become a known presence in the market, opening doors that currently aren’t open.
What you’ll spend your time on
Opportunity hunting
Mapping target companies, scanning for trigger events, preparing outreach and attending industry events with a clear plan. Getting Stampede in front of the right people before they come looking for us.
Qualifying inbound deals
We do our best work when we’re working on the right problems with the right clients. You assess what comes in with that in mind — understanding the challenge, the constraints and whether there’s genuine alignment — so we invest our energy where it counts.
Building our visibility
Owning our publications, LinkedIn and digital presence with content that generates enquiries, not just impressions. If it gets 500 likes and zero leads, it didn’t work. If it gets 12 likes and one serious prospect calls, it did.
Grow our training business
Our AI-Supercharged Design Thinking programme runs monthly. You fill the seats, run outreach to HR, L&D and innovation leads and treat every individual attendee as a door into their organisation. A person who attends becomes a reason to speak to their team. Where the organisation is ready to go deeper, you help them see what that could look like.

Key requirements
- 4 to 6 years of experience in B2B services, consulting or agency BD
- Track record of sourcing opportunities independently, not just processing inbound
- Commercially confident: comfortable having the budget conversation early and saying no to poor-fit prospects
- Genuine curiosity about design, UX and technology — not just selling it, understanding it
- Experience with LinkedIn and other social media for genuine lead generation, not brand awareness
- KL-based and willing to be present: events, client meetings, networking
- Strong and effective communicator in both written English and Bahasa Malaysia. Mandarin or Cantonese is a welcome bonus
- Competent with basic CMS tools and digital platforms without needing a developer for every update
Background
- Account executive or client servicing at a design, digital or PR agency, especially if you got frustrated that your agency wasn’t winning enough
- Tech or SaaS sales in an SME-facing role where you had to earn the conversation, not just take inbound
- Early-stage startup BD where there was no playbook and you had to build it yourself
- Agency-side recruiting — the hunting muscles are right even if the product was different
- Existing network in the KL business community, particularly across large corporates and professional services

Our clients are CDOs, VPs, marketing directors, innovation leads at large Malaysian corporates and regional businesses. You don’t need to be a designer or developer. But you need to understand what we do well enough to represent us credibly and know when to bring in the expert.
You’re commercially sharp
You ask the right questions early about fit, constraints, priorities and appetite. You can respectfully decline prospects who aren’t a good fit for us. You know the difference between a lead worth pursuing and one worth parking, and you make that call without needing to be told.
You measure the right things
Likes, followers and impressions don’t motivate you. Pipeline, qualified conversations and closed revenue do. You know the difference between activity and progress, and you hold yourself to the latter.
Collaboration and teamwork
You enjoy engaging with others and take an active interest in contributing positively to your team. You’re genuinely interested in perspectives that differ from your own and develop empathy for those around you. You naturally enjoy working together to solve complex problems with clients and colleagues.
